Etimologi

Ditingki najolo, panggoaran Sumatra diantusi sian hata Hata Sanskerta ima goarna Suwarnadwīpa ('Pulo Sere' manang Pulau Sere (Island of Gold)) dohot Suwarnabhūmi ('Tano sere' manang Tanah Emas (Land of Gold)), alana bahat sere di adaran na timbo di luat Sumatra.[1] Panggoaran "Sumatra" na ditanda saonari, nungga ditanda parjolo hali taon 1017, ditingki raja Sriwijaya ima Haji Sumatrabhumi ("Raja tano Sumatra")[2] manongos utusan tu to Sina.
